Love your money. Love your life.

Take control of your finances and use money to build a better life

About Me

Hey there! I’m Katherine.

Have you ever wondered if you’re managing your money properly?

Do you want to build a more stable future AND live a better life today?

Are you ready to take real, actionable steps to get your budget together?

Good news - you’re in the right place!

When I was 25 years old, I woke up one day and wondered: will saving my money ever be enough?

This thought started me on a journey to learn everything I could about money and how I could use it to live a better life. Now I’m here to share it with YOU!

My mission is to help you understand the psychology of why we do the things we do with money and how to use money as a tool to live your most fabulous life.

What is an Imperfect Budget?

The first step in almost every finance guide is “Create a Budget”. The general advice is to create a budget at the beginning of every month, accounting for all of the expenses you will have that month, and if it’s not on the budget, you can’t spend it.

I’m a very organized person, but month after month I found myself creating a budget and never sticking to it. I felt like a failure. If I couldn’t master this first step of personal finance, how could I possibly ever do more?

But then I realized - why would I try to build a budget at the beginning of the month and expect nothing to change? Life is too unpredictable for that.

Life is made of unexpected events; that’s what makes it exciting! Your budget should be a tool that opens doors, not a jail that punishes you for spending outside of your categories.

Imperfect Budget takes a more holistic view to your money. Whether your goal is to pay off student debt, start investing for retirement, or save up for a luxury vacation, Imperfect Budget will offer you the tools you need to get your money on track and help you live a bigger, fuller, richer life.
